Today, local elections / day are held throughout Latvia

Today, voting in 948 districts all over Latvia will be available from 8am to 8pm. It is possible to vote in any district of your municipality.

16.1% of voters have provisionally voted in the Latvian municipal elections in the previous voting days, CVK told LETA.

During the previous voting of local elections, 221,949 or 16.12% of voters voted in Latvia.

The highest activity was in Riga, where 19.14% of the population voted in five days, followed by Vidzeme with 16.26%, Latgale with 14.42%, Zemgale with 13.57% of the voters and Kurzeme with 13.52%.

The inhabitants of Valka region participated in the previous vote in Vidzeme. 20.45% of the voters have participated in the previous vote, with a slightly less active Saulkrasti county and Aluksne county, where about 19% of the voters participated in the previous vote.

The least Vidzeme has participated in the previous vote in Olaine County and Gulbene County, with more than 13%participating in the previous voting.

In Latgale the most active was Preili county, where 19.54% of voters participated in the previous voting and 16.25% in Balvi county.

Residents from Rezekne district and Augsdaugava districts participated in the least previous voting in Latgale – 11.14% and 12.14%.

The most active voters in Kurzeme were in South Kurzeme region, where 14.59%participated in the previous vote. The least in Kurzeme went to the polling stations in Talsi County – 13.12%.

In Zemgale, the most active voters in the previous voting were in Jekabpils County, where 15.76% of the voters voted, but the lowest activity was observed in Bauska County, where 11.5% of the voting population participated in the previous vote.

Previous voting on Monday and Wednesday was accompanied by technical problems that influenced the work of the system and registers needed for the process. No major problems were reported on Tuesday and Thursday.

Until today at 12 noon, those who are eligible for Latvian residents who do not allow the polling station on the day of the polling station on the day of the election, have the opportunity to apply for their location in their municipality. For the first time in these elections, off -site voting opportunities are also organized.
