Event. On Saturday, May 24, the great Italian cellist and composer Giovanni Sollima will perform in Liepaja – he is a classical music artist with a rock star status. The concert will be joined by the world -renowned Italian Baroque Orchestra Il pomo d’Oro. The program is dedicated to Venice, a city for Mosaic, which has been merged with various cultures since ancient times. Listeners will experience the revival of Antonio Vivaldi’s lost concerts and Giovanni Sollima’s discoveries in Cyprus and Albanian folk music. In a surprising arrangement, the baroque past will meet contemporary music. You will also be able to hear the original works of Giovanni Sollima, influenced by history, philosophy, literature and art.

Opera. On Saturday, May 24, the Latvian National Opera will host Jacomo Puccini Opera Madama butterfly The show that will be dedicated to the centenary of this production.
