On Saturday, April 19, the Orthodox and Catholics are preparing for Easter, since this year a bright holiday in both churches will take place on the same day – April 20. In the Narva temples, pre -holiday services are held, and also through the entire day they illuminate Easter food.

From the early morning, residents of the city came to the church of the Narva Icon of the Mother of God to participate in the pre -holiday service. Especially a lot of people here could be seen from 11 o’clock, when the consecration of Easter food began. The Narvites came whole families, with children. Many were not limited only to the consecration of Easter cakes, but also entered the temple.

In the Voskresensky Cathedral, baskets with Easter treats were also carried all day: lush cakes, cottage cheese Easter and multi -colored eggs. In the courtyard there was a large table on which parishioners put food. As Hieromonk Korniliy, the cleric of the Voskresensky Cathedral, told the Narva newspaper, from 11 a.m. he went out to consecrate Easter gifts every 10-15 minutes, that is, 5-6 times per hour.
