to get out of this nonsense museum extremely difficult

Gintaras Sarafin, editor of the Ratings magazine, told about educational problems.

– The president sees a very accurate and correct picture. He said clearly and articularly that in all areas in Lithuania this decade was the farthest advancement of energy. And he did not say about education, he expressed the opposite of the idea: many reforms have been carried out, many unprofessionalism, and many political small dividends. But it was amateur, and now we are picking the results. It is a pity that the president said everything late, and he spoke similarly last year. Saying such conclusions requires strict solutions. However, those who created the reforms remained unpunished – they went into good posts, and no one lost any responsibility. We are now sitting in front of the minefield, which the new government comes in gradually trying to learn. I don’t know whether to rejoice or be sad, but it does very slowly.

Full LNK Report – In Video:

– What reforms were the worst?

– I tried to contact the heads of five gymnasiums. They said they were in desperation. Teachers’ eyes are a pole because of the exams every day. They find it difficult, do not carry because everything is « hooked » on schools, they are unable to reconcile exams with the development of other children – they also have to go to school, but they cannot be allowed. Turning all exams into June is a mistake.

Another thing is that our children have learned according to the updated curriculum, and you will not believe it two years later, they have to be updated because they saw a lot of mistakes. My child graduated in grade 8 – without mathematics, informatics, chemistry textbooks. Even though it has been two years – as it has been, it is, all mistakes are still there, nothing has changed.

– Do you have statistics among which children have your child? We often hear stories about how children learn without textbooks and parents can’t even help them.

– What we can see and state – children are left to fate. Parents have siege the tutor firms. Hiring tutors, at least in Kaunas or Vilnius, increased by about 20 percent. Everyone tries to save as knowledgeable.

Children with grief will remember the exams – the challenges created by adults.

But where are our education strategists? There are no them, they lowered theoretical models and told them to implement them for schools. And they said it was impossible, and said they needed to spin as they knew.

– If those responsible were recognized for these reforms and failures in education would it change something?

– We will continue to scream in impunity. The new government is coming and says the previous one was doing badly. The President mentioned that many changes are being made in education without relying not only scientific, but by no research or insights. Simply performing amateur: Several characters with little understanding sit down in the ministry’s office, place, passe them and do.

– Are these politicians who are responsible? Former Education Ministers and Ministers?

– Yes. The responsibility of Jurgita Šiugždinienė is the huge, former Vice -Minister Aurimas Gaidžiūnas – also, Ramūnas Gargusius – the same way. Where are they all? Why do they not comment or take responsibility? Why don’t you say how to implement what did you create in theory? They just went out, gone and everything was over.

And the current ones say they are trying, but impossible. This is a very sensitive field: you move one end – the other is falling. Yes, that’s true. But when there were emergency bursts, no one paid attention. The bulldozer drove and drove off. Now everyone asks: What should I do? It was necessary not to do so much nonsense. Now that they are already made, it is extremely difficult to leave this nonsense museum.

– There is now an exam session. What are the results of this session? Do you think they will be the most important – show what our children are taught and what they have learned if the exam results reflect it?

– Namely. But in Lithuania, there is not much to decide from the exams, as they are changing dramatically every year. There was a mathematics exam – the twelfths say they solved the last seven years’ task and saw that things were different, everything was new.

– There were new tasks in the exam?

– They said they decided, but the access was different. The exam is difficult enough and they were not getting ready at all. The man comes to the exam and is surprised. He seems to have been studying for twelve years and the exam is surprised. I do not know how he is preparing it, but every year it brings it all, turns it over.

We are even talking to scientists that it is no longer possible to compare either the tasks or results of the individual years. We are talking about any thing whether it is physics, mathematics or informatics.

– Why do people who have done tasks want to crush their children?

– They don’t think about children – they think about their budgets, how to surprise them. You see, the examiners are changing every year. A resolution (at least the previous government) was passed to prepare the tasks of the same creators for at least two years. But does not implement what is intended. We see distraction on the heads of children.

Children with grief will remember the exams – the challenges created by adults. And these do not even try to think about the consequences of their decisions for the future of children. After all, mathematics or Lithuanian will soon lead to admission of children to higher education institutions.
