To develop in every workout / day
In my childhood, the godfather gave me the volleyball sticks and I liked working with them, and I lived close to the Riga arena and I often went to the hockey games. So I wanted to try it myself and I went to the first training session at coach Edgar Rosenberg at the age of three. I’m not doing other sports at all.
I think I got hockey well right away. I liked to score, giving up the pass, the feeling of the team. Now in my footsteps, my younger brother goes and we both have a rival – he always wants to be better than I. I am coached by Maxim Shirokov, Aigars Razgals and Edgars Masalskis. They are motivating coaches, helping to develop in every workout and every game. If I am mistaken somewhere, helps you find the right way, telling you what to do better.
Five times a week, two training sessions – both exercise and ice training – are also games at the weekend, and we also go to the Finnish Championship. We have a great deal of experience in Finland, we can compare our strength to the Finnish peers.
The best players from our age from all over Latvia participated in the final of the LHF Talent Program, competing in 3 x 3 hockey, and I got to the most valuable player awards. I want to become a professional hockey player, play in the team and the NHL. My favorite players are Connor McDow and David Pastrnz, but my favorite team for two to three years has been Boston Bruins. However, they didn’t go too well this season. Latvia’s best hockey player is Kaspars Daugaviņš. I hope ours will play in the quarterfinals at the World Cup. You have to go there and look. In my spare time, I enjoy playing different sports – table tennis, football, basketball.
A good hockey player must be intelligent, smart. Therefore, I have to study hard at school, I know if there is bad success, I will not be able to go to training and play. It is nice to score, but even more enjoying beautiful passes. I really like team sports in the ruling spirit, where they pull each other and fight each other.
My strongest sides are the field transparency, a litter. In turn, you should improve the game in the protection zone. Also, working with 100% return on the pitch all the time. It’s not that I lazy, but the coach thinks I sometimes feel that I am superior to everyone – I should not turn off at such moments, playing for all a hundred, not trying to skate opponents with straight legs.
