« Thousands of innocent Kosovars have been shot illegally in mass both during the war and after the war. These massacres also participated in the Yugoslav government agent in the Albanian government, traitor Koci Xoxe, » reads the State Security document accusing Kochi Xoxen of the Bar Massacre. Also in the investigative file is a report by Defense Minister Haxhi Lleshi reporting to the Albanian government to kill 1,000 Kosovars by OZNA forces in Albanian territory. Living evidence is that of Azem Hajdin. The testimonies of the citizens of Bar give details of the atrocity committed by the Serb-Montenegrin population in support of the massacre. Acts such as the Bar Massacre have not taken place in the history of Albania, since the writing of state history has been treated as an ideological act and against national history
On the Bar Massacre, launching columns from Kosovo with 4,000 unarmed recruits began on March 17 and 18, 1945, the first reports of the incident come mainly from eyewitnesses as narrative of oral resources.
The Kochi Xoxes trial 1949-1950 would be evidenced by some former State Security leaders on caravans led from northern Albania to Bar. Also in the investigative file is a report by Defense Minister Haxhi Lleshi reporting to the Albanian government to kill 1,000 Kosovars by OZNA forces in Albanian territory.
The State Security document accused by Kochi Xoxen of the March 30-31 March 1945 massacre, at that time the Minister of Interior was Haxhi Lleshi. Whereas Kochi Xoxe, Director of the People’s Protection Directorate-acronymia Translation of Yugoslav OZNA.
Haxhi Lleshi, Document 19 September 1950
« Too Secret », the State Security Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Albania: « Inspired by nationalist and chauvinistic sentiment, the Yugoslav government has terrorized national minorities and especially the Albanian population of Kosovo and Metohija composed of 1,000,000 Albanians. The Hitlerian Gestapo. Thousands of innocent Kosovars have been executed illegally during the war and after the war. Albanian, more than 1,000 innocent Kosovars ”(AMPB, F. 1, Investigation, Investigation File and Process Against Kochi Xoxes, 1949, Fl.1-2)
Islam Kadeshi’s report, a digit of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Albania for the Massacre of Tivar
In the article « On the Massacre of Bar, the fault is also of the CC of the SNP », published in the magazine « Zeri » of Prishtina, on December 16, 1995, Islam Kadeshi during his duty at the UNCL, in Kosovo gives his testimony of providing information to the General Staff Command for the Bar and April 1945.
« That day came a telegram, a figure from the fifth division commissar, Ramiz Alia, who announced that early in the morning, a large crowd of several people, Kosovo Albanians, after gathering between the two hills, in a valley, were shot and liquidated. I gave the telegram in translated. Communist of Albania. ”
The official report of the Yugoslav Army on the Bar Massacre
In the document written in Serbian for the Bar Massacre, the cessation of the massacre from the arrival of some US military mission forces equipped with Jeep cars.
Official report of the 46th Division of Serbia, dated 8. 4. 1945, sent to the Operations Headquarters for Kosovo and Metohija, on the penetration of the second Eshalon in Bar
“… On all sides the bombs were falling, and the firing was also attended by councilors, nurses in one word, all those who were accidentally found there and who had weapons. The firing was interrupted when none of the people were raised or moved. Many of them have been active in this shooting of people. This mess, so all this is being investigated (Dr. Hakif Bajrani. Kosovo Archive, XVII XVII, Pristina, 1994)
Vivid evidence: Azem Hajdini claims that there are 4310 missing Albanians
The evidence that is two types; Current testimony, taken at the time of the event (1945) and published posts in special works such as the work of Prenk Gruda, (Eurorilindja, 1997), eyewitnesses by Veli Arifi and Azem Hajdini-Xani: In the book published by Albanians of Political Diaspora in Germany in 1991 « The Bar Tragedy ». In the second publication of Pristina 1998, Azem Hajdini – a victim and protagonist of the clearest testimony of the Bar Massacre, the survivor of the second Escalion departing from Prizren to Bar gives this statistic on the number of recruits departing from Kosovo to Bar and the number of victims according Nazi fascists).
“After counting one by one during the entrance to the building it was found that only 810 people were left alive, and as far as the number left of Kosovo, the most registered officer in hand, communicated to us that we have left Kosovo 4,700, which means that along the road and in the Ploy of Bar were killed, killed, massacred and disappeared 3,890 Eshalon {
420 of the first Eshalon; A total of 4310.
Although the bloodshed plans to liquidate everyone, so that no living witnesses were left to testify, fortunately these 810 young Albanians survived the plot. From the general liquidation we saved thanks to some American observers, who at that moment, with a jeep appeared at the scene, as well as some unidentified civilian people who appeared and photographed the whole event. Fearing that crime would be discovered, they were forced to stop the plot. Of the people who have remained alive from this tragedy and according to what I have noticed myself, over 90 percent have rescued those who were inside the building because opportunities for rescue in the yard and square have been minimal. There is a living here and there someone who is hiding in the corpses and just because they have failed to transport them before darkness. At night, those who were injured were more easily able to get out of the corpses and flee in different directions. There are times that they have escaped in the square, but they are very rare. «
The testimonies of the citizens of Bar give details of the cruelty committed by the Serb-Montenegrin population in support of the massacre, local institutions participated in the weapons of Albanian recruits and during the transport of those killed by the monopoly of tobacco factory, piles of rocks were created. It is also reported that many corpses were thrown into the sea and the white plots floated with our days in the waves.
Acts such as the Bar Massacre have not taken place in the history of Albania, since the writing of state history has been treated as an ideological act against national history. The Bar Massacre, while mentioning in the trial against Kochi Xoxes 1949, was not treated by our historians until 1990.
After 1990, with the change of the political system in Albania and Kosovo, it was gradually treated. In the Albanian press, Zef Gruda’s writings were published by the Publishing House « Eurorilindja » in 1997 and in the newspaper « Rilindja », the publication of Tirana. Only in 2010 would be published the monograph « The Bar Massacre » by Uran Butka.
This book is first included in the lists of « Selected Auxiliary Literature » drafted by the Board of the Ministry of Education in 2011-2013.
