Tirana in the eyes of European journalists, speaks of the summit with 47 leaders


About 1,000 journalists from all over Europe arrived in Tirana on May 16, where they reported on one of the most important diplomatic events in Albania, the European political community. Reporters and operators from 47 European countries reported in real time the summit developments, each focusing on topics that affect the countries they came from. Some of them shared with Klan News the reporting experience from Albania.

« I am here in Tirana as correspondent of Radio France International (RFI), to closely follow the movements of French President Emmanuel Macron, but also to monitor the progress of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, for which there is a special interest in our country, » Raphawl Delvolvé, Radio France International is said. From Turkey, interest was focused on European leaders’ attitudes towards developments in the Middle East, including Gaza conflict and peace efforts.

« Here the most important leaders of Europe are gathering, while we are attentively following all the developments. The situation in Gaza remains dramatic and a way out is required to lead to a peace process. Another very important issue for us is the relationship between Albania and Turkey, which has always been special and strategic. »said Kadija Omarry, from TRT Arabia.

While Spanish journalists were the main focus on security, a priority issue for their country in the international arena. Although Tirana welcomed them with rain, for many of them it was a special experience.

« This is my first experience in Tirana. To be honest, I am surprised. The capital of Albania is very beautiful. People are very friendly and cooperative. »

« It is a great experience to be here, in this square full of history, to learn more about Albania’s politics and history. I think it’s a great way to get to know our future colleagues in the European Union. »
