Timo Boll is considering internship at Borussia Dortmund

Table tennis star Timo Boll is in contact with his favorite club Borussia Dortmund because of a possible collaboration after his upcoming career end. However, nothing is ready for saying, the 44-year-old restricted the “current sports studio” of the ZDF.

« There are initial talks, but not yet, » said Boll about rumors about a possible role as an ambassador for the club in the table tennis stronghold of China. There the former world ranking list is a big star. Borussia Dortmund is primarily known for his football team, but the club also has a team in the table tennis Bundesliga.

Boll will end his competitive sports career on Sunday (1 p.m./Dyn) next week with the playoff final of the table tennis Bundesliga. He meets the German Cup winner TTF Ochsenhausen with his club Borussia Düsseldorf.

Boll said he would like to do an internship in a large sports club – and BVB was the first address. « This is how you started a conversation, » said the 20-time European champion and good friend of basketball icon Dirk Nowitzki.
