Time travel to the Middle Ages: Useldingen celebrates magical castle festival
For a weekend, the idyllic castle ruin in Useldingen is turning again into a lively setting of past times. For the 18th time, the popular medieval festival invited visitors of all ages to immerse yourself in another world – full of colors, sounds and scents from a long past era.
Numerous craft guilds presented their traditional arts: leather goods, filigree woodwork, authentic footwear and much more were very interested. In the nearby army camp, historical groups gave insights into the everyday life of the Middle Ages – vivid, lively and with great attention to detail.
The varied program caused enthusiasm in wonderful summer weather. One of the highlights was the impressive fire show of the Duo Stellari, which impressed with dynamic choreographies and artistic fire pictures. The appearances of the Fabula music group, which has been part of the fixture of the medieval scene for 24 years, were also captivating. With percussion, bagpipes and other historical instruments, the playful people ensured atmospheric sounds that the audience torn away. There was also a lot of culinary delights: suckling pigs, knights and numerous specialties from the grill spoiled the guests. There was also met, dark beer or other medieval -inspired drinks – there was something for every taste.
