There are also garbage, couriers arrive, and cars are being parked by mall staff, as the parking lot is paid. I started to worry that even an ambulance would soon not go through those pits, ”said a resident of one house of P. Lukšio Street.

She pointed out that the entrance leads not only to the apartment in which she lives, but also to the whole quarter, so there is no shortage of residents here.

Immediately, even an ambulance will not enter those pits.

The woman said that about a year ago there was a meeting of several residents of the house, attended by specialists of Kaunas City Municipality and talked about the quarterly renovation. In this quarter of the dwelling, several apartment buildings have been renovated and another is currently being managed.

The meeting was given hope that the entrances could be arranged during the quarterly renovation, and such work would cover the arrangement of yards and at the same time. But at that time, the specialists talked, introduced the idea and that it was over.

“He offered to fix it, introduced everything, it seemed to be the ice cream, but everything went silent, the year was gone, no pit was filled. We try to patch those pits for a while, we sometimes fill it with rubble, but it is very temporary, everything is quickly dismissed, we are barely leaving, cars are broken, ”said the local resident.

Several solutions

Representatives of Kaunas City Municipality have indicated several ways to deal with city support in the yards, but the residents themselves must show interest, fill in applications, or even to contribute financially.

“There are a total of about 1.5 thousand in Kaunas. The street, so the city management department has been awarding the main streets for the first year for the first year. Individual apartment dwellers can take advantage of the advantages of the Dream Yard program, thus solving the problem of in the entry pits, ”commented Aloyz Pakalniškis, Head of the City Management Department

Izabelė Bočkienė, a spokeswoman for Kaunas Housing Modernization Agency, noted that residents of apartment buildings could participate in the quarterly renovation program.

“Residents should contact Kaunas Housing Modernization Agency for the opportunity to participate in the Kaunas City Program (R) Evolution. Specialists will be able to tell you more about the program and the conditions you need to participate in it.

However, it is important to emphasize that only a group of homes, where all homes are modernized or started to modernize, can arrange absolutely free recreational spaces. Consequently, most of the owners of apartments and other premises have decisions to make changes from each apartment building, which falls within the boundaries of the home group, ”explained I. Bočkienė.

It stated that if the home group meets the conditions of the program, the whole environment is freely maintained: entry, other coatings, lounge areas and so on. Importantly, the entry is within the boundaries of the home group.
