Three Sports Combination / Day

During the pre -school I went to the athletics preparation group, but when I started my first grade, we were looking for another sport and we found a cross -scene when I heard very good reviews about the coach. Since my dad plays badminton, I had a good experience in racquet sports before. I’ve also attended one football training, but I was probably not lucky because I hit a lesson where I had to run all the time.

Crossminton is a combination of three rocket sports – badminton, tennis and squash. It uses a « spower » similar to badminton frill, but much smaller, heavier and faster than that. Tennis has the parameters of the field, but the squash is a racket. There is no network between the two players’ fields in the crosminton, making the game much more diverse and faster. This is not very popular in Latvia, so when people learn that I am doing crosminton, they do not understand at first what it is and I explained. It seems to me that Crossminton is more interesting than each of those three sports.

My coach Niklav Star is understanding and quite sensitive. The coach himself describes himself as firm, but I don’t see it. I have a good discipline, I visit training regularly, and it also manifests itself in results. I have won second place in the U12 World Cup, won the tournament in Slovakia and was third in the tournament in Poland. At the end of March, I also became the Latvian champion.

My biggest stumbling block is to hit the rear line, so I need to improve the durability so you can run a lot. Recently, running is starting to like more and more, even with my friend we went to the stadium for two consecutive days.

As with many sports, the most difficult thing in the crosminton is to focus emotionally. If you are losing, you can get too faded, but if you are doing very well, you can be too happy and the game will go in the wrong direction. A good crosminton player must be disciplined, with self -control and respect for the opponent. I work out 2-3 times a week for me, but I run outside and sometimes I exercise at home.

Recently, in the tournament in Slovakia, I suffered a fairly severe loss in the semi -finals. It was a big surprise because I won this guy in the previous age group. I would like to improve the technique and durability to be able to overcome him again. I hope that once a crosminton becomes much better and will be included in the Olympic Games, but I will stay in my life as a big and pleasant hobby. Outside the crosminton, jogging and gymnastics, I like fishing and relaxing with friends.
