Three Easter towers formed at the traditional manner in Makedonski Brod

On the second day of Easter in Makedonski Brod, the cultural and tourist event « Easter Towers » was held.

This tradition dates back to the Ottoman time and has lived to this day, after being restored in 1991. At today’s event, three towers were formed by human bodies that were formed by younger residents of this town of Treska.

-In our city on the second day Easter was held the traditional cultural and tourist event « Easter towers ». Three towers of human bodies were created walking from the old village of Brod to the City Square. These towers symbolize the five centuries of Turkish slavery. According to pensioner Mile Stojkoski, this is a custom known as baptism.
