Three Chinese astronauts from Shenzhou-19 after six months in orbit return to Earth
Three Chinese astronauts returned to Earth today after a six -month stay at the Tiangong National Space Station, Chinese news agency Xinhua reported.
The capsule with the three crew members, including Wang Choos, the third Chinese in space, landed around 1pm local time (5pm Central European time) in northern China.
The Shenzhou-19 mission is officially completed. The initial return of astronauts was scheduled for yesterday, but was postponed due to bad weather on the ground.
China invests billions of euros in its ambitious space program. Her goal is to send a mission with human staff to the moon by 2030 and build a lunar base.
Astronauts from the Shenzhou-19 mission have been in orbit since last October, where they conducted numerous scientific experiments, holding the station and set a record for the longest stay in an open space-more than nine hours.
On April 25, the three astronauts from the Shenzhou-20 mission entered the Chinese Space Station Tiangong, where they were welcomed by members of the previous Shenzhu-19 mission. The stage of the meeting was shown by the Beijing Center for Space Missions Control. This is the sixth rotation of the crew in orbit in the history of the Chinese piloted space program, the Chinese Pilot Space Flight Agency said.
