Three bids for procurement in the Armed Forces
The Finnmark farmer is an indomitable optimist with the ability to cope with it unexpectedly. Everything from cows on the cream, power failure, flood, machine accident with spare parts 2000 kilometers away and concern about where the political winds will blow. The ability to cope with it unexpectedly we are used to in Finnmark, so self -preparedness is high in Finnmark!
For the more than 200 farmers in Finnmark, it is important that we have a strong agricultural collaboration. Tine and Nortura pick up and refine our products, and Felleskjøpet delivers input factors such as power for and fertilizers. This gives us certainty that we can produce food for society in the north.
The total defense rests on two legs, the military and the civilian. The military bone builds muscles in Northern Norway, with a sharp increase in money, building, equipment and people. The civilian bone pulls on the foot in a region struggling with population decline, and where both agriculture and other businesses need vitamin injection. The total defense cannot be limped. Therefore, it is important that the structure that occurs in the Armed Forces is used for a corresponding strengthening of agriculture and the rest of the business community. We who are there now are also those who want to be there in a crisis
The Armed Forces’ procurement must be used to strengthen Northern Norwegian food producers and other companies. The politicians say they want it, but concrete measures must be followed up. For example, the head of Finnmark land defense Jørn Qviller said at the Church Conference that the Armed Forces do not have the resources to carry out its own procurement in Finnmark. Thus, it is still difficult for Arctic potatoes and Lakselv bakery to release in the defense market. This I expect the government to address.
I therefore propose 3 bids for the Armed Forces purchasing in the north:
1. Anything that can be obtained locally should be purchased locally
2. Preparedness must be a continuous criterion in tenders and purchasing agreements
3. The Armed Forces must have a regulatory framework and local purchasing offices that allow the county’s food producers and other companies to let go!
This will be a powerful measure to ensure agriculture, preparedness and stronger communities at our end of the country.
