Threatened with a gun at Avenue Mall: ‘The drunken woman (49) tried to rob shops’
The almost movie scene was played on Thursday at about 9.25am at the Zagreb Shopping Center in Novi Zagreb. Two security guards spotted a woman (49), in a visibly intoxicated state, while trying to steal in one store. The security guards caught her and tried to keep her until police arrived, and she threatened them with a firearm.

Drama at Avenue Mall: A woman robbed two shops
She then ran into two more stores and alienated various items with threatening firearms. On the exit of the mall, police officers arrested her and brought her to official premises for criminal investigations.
Trade employees, who witnessed events, told the details that shocked everyone present. One of the saleswoman revealed that she knew her a woman, but that she was recognizable today because of the wig she wore. She allegedly sought a toilet card, which gives access to all the hallways of the mall.
– There was a woman I know, but today she wore a wig and asked for a toilet card. Otherwise, that card allows access to all corridors in Mall – said the saleswoman, adding that the woman disappeared for about 20 minutes, during which she assured her two stores.
– We know her because she worked in one of the stores before. When she returned, she walked into the store she used to work in, ”she said.
Another saleswoman added that the woman recently got fired because of a series of problems, including an incident when she closed the store at 7am and sat in front of her while waiting for the security guards to come and take her away.
– She came this morning with the intention of buying a purse and jewelry. She took a few things and tried to escape. My colleague immediately ran after her, and then the security guards joined her – said the saleswoman, who was also a witness to the woman’s arrest.
Everyone confirmed that at the end of the arrest at a police car on the ground, the other bag was full of stolen things.
