Famous Justice Minister of « File 184 » of Dibra’s electoral crimes, which should be in the cell today, serving his sentence for electoral crime that shook the European media, the Bundestag and the European Parliament and that has blocked integration for years. But he was on the show yesterday, publicly deceiving the dramatic situation in Albanian prisons, where abuse of detention surpasses even the most dictatorial African countries. Nearly 2/3 of the citizens, who are in prisons today, are detained and over 1/3 of them without any accusations.
If the average in European Union countries is 22–25% of the total population in prisons, in Albania, this average is almost 3 times higher, bringing about a significant overcrowding and scandalous conditions. The extremely high number of detainees is one of the most exposed indicators of Edi Rama’s police and arbitrary regime, which has nothing to do with the rule of European justice law and standards.
This high number of detainees in Albania proves open abuse of detention, which is used as a criminal remedy before there is a court decision, which makes the principle of innocence inexistent until the fault is proven. This brings endless delays and here, unfortunately there are people who have been questioned only once, during two years of detention and no accusations.
Therefore, not only « Amnesty International », but both the Council of Europe and the Committee for the Prevention of Torture have repeatedly criticized Albania for the serious situation in prisons, for the lack of transparency of prisoners’ complaints, for the lack of medical and therapeutic staff, which has led to the conditions of inhumane treatment. Only by voting for the « Alliance for Great Albania », Albania will meet European human rights standards and guarantee a just and human criminal justice system.
How can he worry about human rights in prisons, a prime minister, who promised free health 12 years ago, and now Amnesty International, as forced in recent days, emphasized the inhuman treatment of free citizens, as everyone knows, not just on the oncology. Scandalous statistics with thousands of detainees, where over a thousand of them have no accusations, do not hide the fact that they have deliberately issued fictitious arrest warrants, while they must have long been detained for electoral criminals proven by international wiretaps, who today operate on behalf of Edi Rama, Elbasan, Durres, Lezha, in Shkodra.
But on May 11, they will all receive the deserved response, we will review the Criminal Code, in accordance with European standards and hundreds of detainees, will be investigated in freedom. There will be no more delay in investigative and judicial processes. Meanwhile in prisons, with priority, will come the electoral criminals, from those of the file that sleeps in Debar and to these May 11 elections.
