This week in Riga will be the seventh International Baltic Ballet Competition / Day

Moto of the International Baltic Ballet Contest – Everything is possible … And you can! – Invites young artists to prove their talent and craftsmanship on their way to excellence.

Classical ballet dancers and professional ballet school students in three age groups (12-14, 15-18 and 19-26) participate in the competition, representing countries such as Japan, Australia, Turkey, Greece, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia and others.

The special guests of this year’s concert will be Lisa Pavlova and Michael Belilov, the leading soloists of the Berlin Ballet company, Kleber Rebello, the leading soloist of the Toulouse Opera Ballet, and Ludmila Konovalov, the Vienna State Ballet Star. The concert will also feature former Berlin State Ballet and Miami City Ballet Prime Minister Rainer Krensteter, who is a winner of countless ballet competitions.

« This competition always seems to me as a festival for dance, talent and human inner strength. This year, the competition is expected to be in the oldest group with professional dancers.

The contestants will be evaluated by an international jury chaired by Aivars Leimanis, the artistic director of the Latvian National Ballet. The jury will feature experienced ballet professionals from France, Germany, Croatia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Austria and Latvia.

The winners will receive cash prizes and opportunities to train in prestigious European Ballet Schools. There will also be master classes during the competition, which will provide additional opportunities for young dancers to grow and develop.

Since 2013, the International Baltic Ballet Competition has become an important event in Latvian dance art, which inspires and brings together the ballet community. It promotes the opening of new talents, the development of ballet education, international cooperation and the preservation of classical ballet traditions.

Tickets for the contest rounds and end concerts are available Ticket paradise at the box office and on the Internet: www.bilesuparadize.lv/en/organizer/675

The competition is organized by the Latvian Ballet and Dance Guild and Mikc National Secondary School of Arts Riga Ballet School with the support of the State Culture Capital Foundation and Riga City Council.
