– We are both impressed and deeply grateful that so many Danes and their four -legged friends chose to defy the temperamental whims of the Danish spring weather to embark on the sun, rain, blown and even hail showers to attend this weekend’s Agria Dog Tour. Participation increased by as much as 70 percent compared to last year. Not only does it testify to the Danes being enthusiastic about their own dogs, but also emphasizes how great a goodwill is to help dogs in need, and it must of course trigger a record donation, says a satisfied organizer, CEO of Agria Animal Insurance, Tine Stabell.

Record -breaking donation

The purpose of Agria Doggåtur is to raise funds to improve conditions for homeless dogs. Agria donates an amount for each enrolled dog and owner to different animal welfare organizations in seven different countries, so also dog owners in Sweden, Norway, Finland, England, Germany and France have gone a charity tour during May.

In Denmark, Agrria had decided in advance that the donation should go to the Animal Welfare Works’ work with homeless dogs.

– We chose the animal welfare because they make a great effort to find new homes for homeless dogs. It takes a lot of resources to care for and care for the dogs, as well as to ensure those who need it, necessary veterinary treatment. We will – and a record number of Danish dog owners – would like to support that, and because of the record -breaking connection we have decided to raise the donation to 55,000 kroner, which goes uncut to the Animal Welfare, says Tine Stabell.

Overwhelming support

Henrik Knaack, Director of the Animal Welfare, is grateful for the commitment and support the Danish dog owners have shown:

– What a success this year. And where it is pleased that the Danes have seriously taken Agria’s dog walk. We are so grateful for the support, so huge thanks to Agria and to all those who have been out for a walk with their dogs. It makes a big difference in for us here in the Animal Welfare. Thank you so much, he says.

Agrias Dog Gåtur was started in Sweden in 2016 and celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. The event began as a physical walk, but has grown into a major international event that is both physically and digitally held, giving dog owners the opportunity to participate, no matter where they are, and at the same time show their support for dog welfare on social media.
