This new attraction was recently opened in Mindelheim

700 paving stones, more than three tons of gardening, one and a half tons of sand, three and a half tons of filling materials and even more materials have been installed at the barefoot path in Mindelheim – not to forget the approximately 450 hours of work. The new leisure offer can be found below the Mindelburg on the middle cross of the Mindelberg on the way to the Pond of Mathildenruh and has now been officially opened.

The barefoot path was created from a Further development of the wild bee teaching trail. Originally, a larger flower surface was to be created here, but the soil cultures tended to overgrow. In order to waste donations from companies and citizens that have not already been made unnecessarily, the idea came up to use a sub -area and create a barefoot path that is not yet available in Mindelheim and which can be used by anyone. The path is around 30 meters long, contains twelve barefoot feelings and a 300 kilogram sky stone.

The new barefoot path in Mindelheim cost around 4,500 euros

Project manager Jan-Erik and Bettina Ahlborn In the spring of last year, a funding application for regional development Lag Kneippland Unterallgäu submitted and received 1500 euros. There were also donations from private individuals and companies. The costs amounted to around 4,500 euros. After the planning, it went to work from the end of last year. Landscape gardener Sebastian Hausdorf provided machines, but worked on a voluntary basis, like all other helpers. The Mindelheimer Bauhof was also involved in the campaign.

Now, in spring, the path was completed and officially inaugurated. In addition, a rustic wood pavilion for hikers and rest ends is to be set up in the same area in the next few weeks.

If you want to volunteer for the barefoot path, you can contact the city of Mindelheim

Project manager Jan-Erik Ahlborn has a large request to the population: « If you use the offer, please treat this barefoot path care and report damage or vandalism from the city and the police. » If you want to contribute to preservation and care in the future, you can contact Michael Schindler or Sabine Filser from the city of Mindelheim.
