This message in e-Box can be of great importance
Lowest participation among men
It is particularly worrying that participation among men is low. In the age group 50-64 years, it is only about 50 per cent. of the men who send in a stool test after they have received the invitation for screening. Compared to women, about 10 per cent participate. Fewer men.
Therefore, the workshop humor and car-lingo must help to make men in particular attention to screening. With reference to the fact that most people take their cars every two years, but forget the screening, asks the Danish Cancer Society: When did you last sight yourself?
– We know from studies that many people think it is cumbersome or downright disgusting to take a stool test. Therefore, with the campaign we will show how the test is taken and create a universe that appeals to the men in particular, where the workshop humor makes it easier to talk about the subject, says Janne Bigaard, chief physician in the Danish Cancer Society.
The campaign film can be viewed on Sydigselv.dk.
New reminders
Studies have shown that a simultaneous invitation in e-Box and extra reminders has a positive effect on participation. Therefore, citizens, as something new, are now being prepared for the test for screening to be on the way. Shortly before it lands in the mailbox, they receive a letter in e-Box that informs what the screening entails and when they can expect to receive a sample set. If the citizen does not send the stool test to the laboratory, two reminders will also be sent in three months.
