This McDonald’s meal can instantly remove migraine

In the video, which has received over seven million views on social media in a short time, she talks about the so-called ‘McDonald’s Migraine hack’, which is apparently quite well known among many suffering from the disease.

« The order is: a big cola and a large french fries. And it somewhat miraculously causes the migraine to disappear, » says Dr. Lowe, which even suffers from chronic migraines, according to the Daily Mail.

She explains that it is the caffeine in the cola and the salt of french fries that makes this simple trick so effective.

« First, a large cola (about 950 ml) from McDonald’s about 80 milligrams of caffeine. It’s often enough to stop a migraine attack, » she says.

Caffeine is believed to be able to relieve severe headaches by pulling the blood vessels into the brain together, reducing inflammation and pressure. It can also block the signal substance adenosine, which rises during migraine attacks and causes pain.

« In addition, McDonald’s is known to have some of the most salty french fries. Salt, electrolytes – easily, » she adds.

Imbalance in electrolytes, which can be sodium, can trigger migraines. Therefore, salt food can increase your intake of sodium and thus also help relieve the pain and reduce the frequency of migraine attacks.

« And then of course, french fries or carbohydrates. Many people get migraines triggered by hunger or low blood sugar, so the carbohydrates certainly help here, » Dr. Lowe.

According to Health Insurance Denmark, there are more than 640,000 people with migraines in Denmark, which is why there are many Danes who can benefit greatly from this trick from Dr. Lowe.

According to British National Health Services, a migraine attack typically feels like a very bad headache with throbbing pain in one side of the head, but a number of other symptoms can also occur.

Before a seizure you can feel tired, feel like certain foods, get mood swings or a stiff neck. Other warning signs include visual disturbances (zigzag patterns or flashes of light), sensory disorders such as tingling and sting, dizziness and problems with talking.

Migraines are believed to be due to abnormal brain activity that temporarily affects nerve signals, chemicals and blood vessels in the brain, but the exact cause is still unknown.

However, the neurologist warns that the McDonald’s solution is not the healthiest option. Instead, you can find between 60 and 65 mg of caffeine in medicine for migraines, such as Panmigrol.

« The recommended dose is typically two tablets – then you land between 120 and 130 milligrams of caffeine. It’s an easy way to get the caffeine component from this ‘cocktail’, » the doctor says in his video.

She also says that sports drinks like Powerade are another good way to get more electrolytes and reduce dehydration.

« That being said, we are all people and when you feel bad, sometimes you just need delicious food. I understand it. I don’t criticize the tip – just don’t make it a habit, » the doctor finally says in his video.
