This is what Federal Chancellor Merz says in his first government declaration
Chancellor Friedrich Merz wants to get out of his government CDU,, CSU and SPD especially for security, cohesion and « prosperity for everyone ». « We need a change of our politics in many ways. And such a change presupposes rethinking and new priorities in many places, » said the CDU boss in his first government declaration in the Bundestag.
His government is aware of the great domestic and international challenges – « not least also in relation to public finances ». Germany is strong, however, and can rely on diligence, ingenuity, creativity and commitment of the people living here. The new federal government is convinced that « our great country will consist of the challenges of our time on our own and can make something good ».
Government declaration by Chancellor Merz: « Prosperity for everyone »
During his reign, Merz wants to reactivate a promise from the early years of the Federal Republic: « We want to rule to » renew the promise of « prosperity for everyone », he said right at the beginning of his speech. This promise comes from Ludwig Erhard, who was Minister of Economic Affairs from 1949 to 1963 and then three years and whose name is closely linked to the so -called « economic miracle » of the post -war period. In the 1950s he wrote a book entitled « Prosperity for everyone ». (dpa)
