This is how the doctors fought for the life of dr. Tomasz Solecki
The tragedy took place on April 29, around 10. On that day, Dr. Tomasz Solecki worked at the Krakow University Hospital, where he accepted the patient in an orthopedic clinic. Despite this, the enraged Jarosław W. fell into the orthopedist’s office, first shouted, and after a while he took out a knife and attacked.
Security guards appeared in the office, who overpowered an aggressive cutter. According to investigators, he only calmed down when policemen appeared. Studies have shown that he was not under the influence of alcohol.

However, the doctor in a serious condition went to the operating theater. Within a dozen or so minutes a team was organized consisting of anesthesiologists, vascular surgeons and cardiologists. Doctors from other Krakow facilities also joined the intervention: from the hospital of John Paul II and the children’s hospital.
The operation lasted two hours. – Everyone rushed to save Tomek, unfortunately, despite the involvement of a huge number of people, the doctor’s life could not be saved. The injuries were too extensive – explains Dr. Rafał Depukat, manager of the operating theater.
Jarosław W. was obsessed with health. The family reveals details
On the same day it came to light that Jarosław W. – who turned out to be a former patient of dr. Sołecki – he had already threatened the doctor. Two years ago he underwent an elbow surgery at the University Hospital. According to his parents, he was obsessed with his health from that moment.
– He had an elbow surgery. Then it was getting worse and worse, mentally and physically. I didn’t believe it, but he thought he was infected with some virus. He said that this doctor intentionally did something to him – says the man’s father, with whom he managed to talk to the journalist « attention! TVN ».
Last year, the 35-year-old complained about the orthopedist to the Ombudsman for the Patient Rights. However, the proceedings showed that his rights had not been violated.
According to another orthopedist patient, she heard at the beginning of this year that the man came over and threatened him. – In January I was on a private visit to Dr. Solecki. The doctor told me such a story from the morning that the patient invaded him into the office. He began to threaten that I quote him: « Zab … with a knife. » He was all shaken – says the woman.
