This is how the agricultural sector wants to win new employees
The number of farms in Luxembourg decreases. One reason: the companies find increasingly difficult employees.
480 Selected job seekers from the employment office took the opportunity to meet employers on Wednesday who are looking for talents for a broad spectrum of agricultural activities: agricultural workers, horse nurse, stable workers, harvest helpers, zaunbauer, mechanic and viticultural worker.
15 agricultural and wine-growing businesses from the Grand Duchy took part in this newly established “job day”, which was initiated by the employment agency in cooperation with the Luxembourg Chamber of Agriculture and winegrowing in this rapidly developing sector.
Diverse and sustainable perspectives
Minister of Labor Georges Mischo praises the “Jobday” as a perfect example of the endeavor to “bring the possibilities of the job market closer to job seekers. Agriculture is an important sector that offers diverse and sustainable perspectives. «

Minister of Agriculture Martine Hansen recalled that Luxembourg agriculture needs talents to master the challenges of tomorrow.
This first jobday agriculture not only showed the interest and dynamics of the sector, « but also the enormous variety of different professions in agriculture and viticulture ».
