It is a matter of honor

Medinė Karpavičė is distinguished not only by her own name, with unspeakable colors and fiery curls. For a moment, I thought if there were a Red Book, which would include the endangered qualities of humans, the tenth of Kaunas Jesuit Gymnasium would deserve to be on the pages of the publication.

Modest, but self -confident, responsible to the public and themselves, nurturing traditions and Lithuanian. Will you say the value here? With the attracting barriers between states and cultures, as the motivation grows new, the mother tongue is increasingly contaminated with adultery. And the written word is increasingly distorted. While virtual conversations, emails and short messages can be written in Lithuanian letters, people are increasingly « scrubbing ». They did not « know », « prays », « enjoy », « pesosi » and « asaria ».

Very beautiful and Lithuanian sayings, they are very interesting to me, showing what our ancestors were concerned about.

« For me, it is a matter of honor to write in Lithuanian letters. I encourage me to do the same thing, » Medeinė was pleased that her friends are easy to give up on parenting. The letters squeeze and dashes, the handkerchiefs of the roller. Irregular spelling for Medeine screams eyes, and from the distorted word in the ears, so it often corrects talking.

« Of course, I do not speak completely correctly, so I do not always correct others. The Lithuanian language is difficult – coordination with the pronouns, the many long letters that need to be remembered, the confusing punctuation rules. Despite everything, the Lithuanian language is very beautiful. He spoke like the famous chef Gordan Ramsay about the most delicious homemade toppings with rosemary sauce.

Wrote at school

Parental vaccinated, love for the mother tongue intensified even more at school. In elementary schools, the Lithuanian language lesson was one of the most popular. Over the years, the list has added new and things.

« I like a lot because the teachers are good, » – the constant desire of Kaunas Jesuit Gymnasium’s teachers to improve, according to Medeine, is contagious. Gymnastics are socially active and engage in various activities. For example, during his free school school, the schoolgirl walks to the gymnasium debate club, attend lectures on Kaunas Gifted Children’s Program, sports, and reads a lot. Having participated in various competitions more than once, this year Medeine decided to try her hand at a national dictation.

« Last year I had another event at the same time, so I was unable to participate in the national dictation. This time it was favorable – M. Karpavičė was not specially prepared for the adult and students’ literacy competition, she was not enough.

The first phase of the competition organized since 2006 took place on March 7. People were in libraries, municipalities, schools and other institutions to write an anniversary dictation. Medein, together with the gymnasium community – students, their parents and teachers, tried to fit in three school classes.

« Do you remember that abundance of the sea, Sofia? Tonight’s memories of Vilnius, previously not a memory well, flood me. Winter! ”, The gymnast recalled the first text of the dictation. The letter of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis wrote more than 20,000 in the selection tour of Sofia. people.

The hardest thing is punctuation

One hundred participants who made the least mistakes in the selection round traveled to the final, traditionally gathered by the most literate. The news that he would go further, the Medeine was more believed than was unexpected.

« I just believe in myself! » The schoolgirl was just as secured, when he heard the second text in the finals, who and other participants went to the church of St. George, sometimes known as the double of St. George’s Martyr and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Only, unfortunately, we didn’t get inside and couldn’t see everything with our own eyes. ”

The second text for Medeine appeared lighter than the first. The schoolgirl guessed, and the organizers chose such tactics by accident – MK Čiurlionis’ letter to Sofia was like a filter.

« What was the hardest thing? It was unheard of, not very used in modern speech. And of course punctuation, especially direct speeches, » the Medeine smiled when asked if he finished writing and waiting for the answers. – What? It would not have changed anything. At that moment, the only thing I felt was hunger. I was planning to have dinner with my best friend, but we were invited to the LRT tour. ”

In the plans, more attempts

Kaunas residents triumphed in the national dictation organized in the fifteenth year, as it turned out on May 3. Kaunas Stephen Darius and Stasys Girėnas Gymnasium became the most active school. It has over 900 students and the dictation was written by 850. In the adult category, pharmacist Dalia Lapienė won and students like Medinė won.

« I was very happy to hear my name, » said not only Medinė. After learning the results of the national dictation, Bernadeta Brazaitytė, a teacher of Lithuanian language and literature, said she knew from the outset that the title of the most literate student would go to Medeine. It was as if honey was the words of the best friend for the student: « How fun it is to communicate with people who know so much. »

One time the gymnast is not enough. Next year she plans to attend the national dictation again. He hopes that her best friend, a fourteen -year -old brother and a twelve -year -old sister will follow her example. Will there be a third time? This is not the case with the schoolgirl, especially since the Medeine will be waiting for the maturity exams and the choice of the follow -up.

« I do not associate my future with Lithuanian. I just did what I like. Why not try? » Asked where he sees in the future, Medein was open. « I haven’t finally decided. I have a lot of luck, so there are many choices.
