This flying car would be available in Belgium at the end of 2027: « Nice to be part of a world evolution » (Kalmthout)

The Kalmthout entrepreneur Herman Delcroix of DBT invited some managers from the region on Thursday 12 June to get to know the flying car. « Look, there he comes across the Essensteenweg, » Herman points out, while the bright orange Liberty-PAL-V comes to the Magermannen on the Magermanse Heide at his hall complex.

« In 2006 I was called by a group that wanted to introduce their business plan for a flying car. My first reaction was: » that is not possible at all, « Dingemanse admits. « But when we heard that they had an idea that was possible within all the applicable regulations, we started to develop it. And look, almost 20 years later we put 200 people in our factory in Raamsdonksveer. The basic idea is not mine, but it feels nice if you notice that you are realizing a world revolution. »

« As you can see, our flying car has three wheels and offers that space for two people. We call this a gyrocopter, to clearly give the difference with a helicopter, » explains Mike van den Broek, COO or operational director. We do not use a motor to drive the rotor. In other words, you can compare the principle with a maple leaf that swirles down. If the two engines ever dropped out, you drop down like a parachute, but checked. «

Still benefits in addition to the speed? You don’t have to go back to the place where you left. You leave nothing behind and you can – where you can – easily take off. It is also not necessary to store ‘the plane’. In Europe you have around 15,000 fields that you can leave free of.

“Still benefits in addition to the speed? You don’t have to go back to the place where you left. You don’t leave anything behind and you can-where it is allowed to go out easily. There is also no hangar to park ‘the plane’. In Europe you have about 15,000 fields that you can leave free. In the Netherlands the regulations are pretty strict, but in Belgium, your France or the France or the France, the France or the France, the France or the France, the France, the Bouw, the Bouw, you can take the France, the France, the Bouw, the Bouw, the Bouw, the Bouw, the Bouw, the Bouw, the Bouw, the Bouw, the Bouw, the Bouw, the Bouw, the United States. Fly, or fold the wings and tail if you want to drive, « says Mike van den Broek.

Just like a driver’s license, you also need a flight license. For that you can follow a course with us that consists of six blocks of five days each. At that time you learn to fly better than a sports pilot. We already have a training center in Breda and there will also be one in Italy. Those who are interested can already start with the flight training

« There is a lot of interest in our ‘FlyDrive solution’. More than half of our customers are governments and large companies, but for example border control or emergency services it is also interesting. The fire brigade can quickly bring a specialist on site. By flying over a fire, you immediately get a different picture, » says Dingemanse. « Another big advantage against all other flying vehicles is that we can fly very low and slow. In theory already at a height of ten meters. That is a very interesting application for emergency services, veterinarians or farmers in Australia. »

Euro 95

« At the moment you can fly with one tank, filled with ‘normal Euro 95 petrol’, 500 kilometers and then still 150 kilometers. « And of course time is not standing still. We will find out whether we can use a synthetic fuel to fly CO2 neutral, or with batteries, but they still weigh too heavy. »

In Europe you have to count on 400 to 500,000 euros, depending on how far you want to go in personalization. We will deliver relatively quickly in Belgium. You are the second country after the Netherlands and we already have orders in Belgium. I suspect that you will see our Liberty-PAL-V in Belgium at the end of 2027, at the latest at the latest 2028

A frequently heard question with those present was about the cost price. « In Europe you have to count on 400 to 500,000 euros, depending on how far you want to go into personalization. In Belgium we will deliver relatively fast. You are the second country after the Netherlands and we already have orders in Belgium. I suspect that you will see our Liberty-PAL-V in Belgium at the end of 2027 at the latest, » Dingemanse concludes.

One of the entrepreneurs present with a passion for cars and motorbikes is Stanny Wouters from Kalmthout: « I think it’s a good thing. There is a future in it, » Stanny’s first reaction sounded. « Through an acquaintance that the pilot is, I got to know PAL-V. He is now giving the training to candidate administrators. I am interested, it is a very nice technique and especially very safe. No accidents can happen with this and that is a matter won, I think, » concludes Stanny Wouters.

Group purchase

« Two friendly entrepreneurs told me about PAL-V. Recently we opened a hall complex here in Nieuwmoer and it seemed interesting to invite those innovative Dutch people to the lean men, » says Herman Delcroix. “And with success. The attendees respond enthusiastically. I know too little of technology to correctly estimate the possibilities and I also do not need it professionally. I know that there is good interest in local entrepreneurs, for example, to buy a flying car together and use one in turn or buy one as an investment. In September we organize another demo at the ‘Seppe’ airport near Breda. Hopefully we can also see them fly there, ”ends Herman Delcroix.

The flying car can drive 1315 kilometers with 2 people with one tank and reaches a maximum of 160 km/h. Flight range is 500 kilometers at maximum height of 11,000 feet (+/- 3.5 kilometers)
