« After receiving the message, we went to the place, we were fenced by the stop lane, and we put the sign that the place was infected with the bird’s flu, » said Diana Jankauskienė, Advisor to the SFVS Supervision Division.
Kaunas residents, after hearing about such a case in the very center of the city, on the other side of the castle, said the situation was worried.

According to specialists, this is not the first dead bird this year due to bird flu.
« This is the second case of birds in the wild birds. This year, the flu was set on a commercial farm in Šilutė district, » said the SFVS Advisor.
In the spring, during bird migration, the dangerous situation due to the spread of the disease becomes even more dangerous.

« That risk of infection to the public is quite low if a person does not touch it. If they touch their hands, then eat something, touch his or her eyes, nose – through those mucous membranes, can be infected with bird flu, » said Orina Ivanauskienė, Head of the Infectious Disease Management Division at the NVSC.

« Eating poultry is probably infected with that flu – it’s not very good, » the man said.
« Most of the time you hear about it, but it is not that it is different, » she said.
Specialists say that in rare cases, food, but the most important thing is not to go where carcasses are found. However, it is quite difficult to distinguish bird flu from the seasonal flu because their symptoms are similar.
« All symptoms such as influenza: cough, temperature, weakness, runny nose. There may be neurological phenomena that are more likely to occur to bird flu, » said O. Ivanauskienė.
There were no people in the flu in Lithuania to date, but in the world such cases have occurred in 24 countries. In total, over a thousand illnesses have been recorded. Most often in the United States, Canada, Belgium, a cat was suffering from a cat flu, and in January this year, a man’s influenza in the United Kingdom was in the household.
