Third Edition Branko Bubic Football Days in Bale gathered athletes, experts and talents


The Bale hosted a special sports weekend this year! Third edition Branko Bubic Football Days (BBFD) The 25th and April 26 were held and reunited numerous athletes, experts and young football players from several European countries. All that in honor Bubi – Legends of Istrian football, whose spirit and dedication to football still live through this event.

All matches of the HNL Supersport HNL only look at MaxSport channel of Croatian Telecom.

The event was also organized by this year by NK Istra 1961Who,, La Liga and the club Deportivo alavés. The first day was dedicated to the professional A conference on the topic of sports diplomacy, attended by numerous panelists, including former Croatian national team and HNS Ambassador Šime Vrsaljkowater polo legend Dubravko ŠimencItalian ambassador Paolo Trichiloas well as prominent representatives of the academic community from Croatia and Slovenia.

Through three professional panels, the role of sports in international relations, the promotion of the country through sports success, and concrete examples of cooperation between sports institutions and diplomacy were discussed. Particularly emphasized the role of famous athletes like Luke Bruise in the strengthening of the international reputation of Croatia.

On the second day, all the views were aimed at the lawn! An international tournament for the younger ages was held, attended by young footballers from Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro and Italy: NK Istra 1961, HNK Gorica, NK Rijeka, NK Lokomotiva Zagreb, FK Old Airport, NK Olympia Ljubljana, NK Domžale and Udinese. The victory in the tournament was won by the Lokomotiv team, while Istria in 1961 and Rijeka took second and third place.

President of NK Istra, Branko Devide Vincentexpressed pride that the event has been held for the third year in a row in honor of Branko Bubic, and emphasized that the BBFD has been included in the official La Liga calendar – which further confirms the international importance of this event.
On behalf of La Liga, Esteban Casado, a representative of the global network, addressed the gathered at the press conference, emphasizing support and satisfaction with the continuous growth and international echo of the project. BBFD in Bale once again showed how much sport can connect on the field and beyond.
