Four years ago, a list of the National Association (NA) was celebrated in the Bauska County Council elections with a great lead – 11 deputies out of 19, with Aivars Okmanis, the former head of Rundale County. The five percent barrier at the time was overcome by four more lists, with nine in total.

Eight lists are involved in the 2025 election battle, only two of them have used a full candidate quota – 22 persons. 96.8 percent of candidates are Latvians. When browsing party pre -election programs, they do not feel very principled contradictions in the vision of the future of the county.

NA number one this time is Aivars Okmanis, the next is Aivars Machek, Vice -President and two former mayors – Arnolds Jātnieks and Raitis Ābelnieks. « The NA is a political force that takes care of the preservation of Latvianness, cultural and national patriotism. Let’s support the celebration of the annual celebration in local communities and schools, events to honor the fighters for the independence of our country and the most outstanding county leaders, » the pre -election program said. The NA also promises to try to keep educational institutions closer to their homes and prevent the elimination of a vocational education institution in Saulaine. It is planned to promote the construction of social and low rental housing, with priority for families with children, young professionals, seniors and vulnerable persons. In cooperation with state institutions, NA promises to get the construction of Bauska and Iecava bypasses, as well as the Ozolaine -Bārbele -Walle -Jaunjelgava motorway, Grenctale dairy -Ērgli and Dāliņi -Jaroza reconstruction.
