They were looking for tourists with their child in the Beskids all night. They found themselves at the hotel
On Saturday evening, May 10, GOPR rescuers Beskidy put on their feet a report from the police about tourists who did not return from the trip to the mountains. The notification concerned a woman, a 4-year-old child and an accompanying person who stayed in a hut in Rogacz, left before noon and did not return to accommodation by 23 o’clock. Their personal belongings remained in the room, and the woman’s phone did not answer.

« Collecting detailed information began, creating a mobile command center at the Magurka shelter.
The situation was serious, because the night conditions deteriorated much that night – intense rain was falling, the temperature dropped strongly, and the visibility was limited to several meters.
« In the area of search, rescuers of the operational sections: Bielsko-Biała, Szczyrk and Żywiec were disposed of. Together with the police, monitoring was analyzed and the surrounding parking lots were checked. Hiking patrols, two off-road cars and two quads were sent to the area. Tourists were found all and healthy in the hotel
After a few hours, the case had an unexpected final. Around 2.40, policemen tracked people sought at one of the hotels in Bielsko-Biała-whole and healthy. The actions were finally completed after 4 am. In total, 15 GB GOPR rescuers and a group of policemen were involved in the search.
« If you use accommodation in shelters or mountain huts, and your plans will change or another random situation will happen – inform the service. Otherwise, in some situations a search procedure may be launched, which involves many rescuers and significant means » – remind rescuers of GOPR.
The search for tourists caused indignation among Internet users. Those in the comments indicate that these people should cover the costs of shares out of their own pocket. « Lack of imagination is stunning, » they comment.
