Another investor wants a solar power plant.
Nové Zámky. The Slovak gas industry (SPP) does not give up ambitions to build in close surroundings of Nové Zámky Wind park.
Gasters want to build fifteen wind turbines, including eleven right in the cadastre of the city, in close surroundings. Of these, they chose urban land for four, they planned to rent from the town hall for 25 years.
However, MEPs rejected their proposal at their March meeting. The problem is the location, but especially the turbine parameters.
The CAP came up with a similar intention as early as 2024. In addition to arguments about the arable land and visual impact, they also lacked information on the amount of energy produced.

In 2023, Slovakia produced 30 Terawatt hours (TWh) electricity. Compared to 2022 it was 11.23 percent more. Companies, institutions and households have consumed 26.51 TWh electricity.
Already during the first half of 2023 Slovakia has become a pure electricity exporter. This status was also maintained in 2024. However, exports decreased by about 14 percent last year.
« Energy prices are spotted, determined by the market and do not depend on whether we will have fifteen turbines. Moreover, household prices are regulated. In addition, renewable sources entering the price of energy, are the most expensive.
The only question, according to Polerecka, is whether the money that the gases offer to the city will « save » the city.

Part of the deputies were particularly concerned about the turbine parameters. The turbine itself is located at a height of 162 meters, the highest point that would reach its leaves is 250 meters. Three -leaf turbines would turn in a circle with a diameter of 176 meters.
One of the conditions of the city was that the wind park would not interfere with a territory where a container translator of the wide -gauge railway could grow in the future.
Gasters report that if such a situation occurred, the turbines would be moved outside the protection zones of the expressway and railway, respectively. would not build them at all.
