They have what they deserve!

They have what they deserve!

The political class is the reflection of the people, I say this immensely and again repeat after the electoral result in the regional elections in Madeira.
Miguel Albuquerque, despite being argued in a case, despite being suspected of having committed several irregularities, despite having in his own party who disagreed with his candidacy, despite the discomfort that his candidacy caused to the PSD, although opposition parties said they would never agree with the PSD while Albuquerque was his leader and despite the common citizen in this circumstant Elections, Albuquerque won the elections and was very close to a majority.

What can the Madeirans ask more?
They have what they chose and consequently what they deserve.
For his part, the national PSD leader who during the election campaign maintained a distance from the PSD Madeira leader, after counting the votes tries with some disadvantage to get a victory that is not his, but Miguel Albuquerque. Montenegro demonstrated political opportunism and perhaps some hope for seeing a companion win some elections, despite being suspected of committing several illicit.
It is case to say that crime pays off, because the people are sovereign and seems to reward those who prevaric and harm it. This is not the first case, there are several cases such as Oeiras, in which Isaltino Morais is an undisputed winner, despite all that is known. And then there are the others, those who have never been constituted defendants, because the processes are tucked into any drawer or secretary and continue their way impunity with the connivance of justice and the complacency of the people who seem to not want to know what is happening around them.
Let’s go to the facts, politicians can be weak or commit irregularities, justice may not work for everyone, but the main responsible are the voters who choose them!

There is no point in talking to the full mouth that politicians are all the same (fortunately not), that it is necessary to end corruption and that there is a complete disbelief of the political class and then giving a vote of confidence to who is an example of everything that should not be a politician.
All of this is too bad, all of this decreases the hope of those who still believe that it is possible to dignify politics and choose a different turn for the future, all this is a sign that it is not just justice that is meager with those who prevaric, the people are much more benevolent, reaching the height of returning them to (dis) governing.
In 50 years of democracy, political illiteracy is still reigning for the enjoyment of many opportunistic people who choose as a way of life to serve the public cause. To these, it matters poorly informed, ignorant or naively believing in their false seriousness so that everything remains the same.

A country (dis) governed by webs of interest and weak protagonists with a people accommodated and surrounded by reality, which still continues them, wasting the only weapon they have, the vote.
Portugal will only have good rulers when people are demanding and careful in choices, participate more in civic life, leave home to vote and, once and for all, realize that your choice will have a direct impact on your life. Until then, they have what they deserve!
