I will release the place immediately if they want, bequeathed.
Košice. The municipal deputy Tomáš Vasok (independent) recently employed in the Transport Company of Košice (DPMK). He has also been a member of the Board of Directors for more than a year in this 100 % joint stock company.
Opposition MPs in the municipal council criticize the employment of Vasoka in the company and perceive it as a reward for his « dirty robot » for the management of the city headed by the mayor Jaroslav Polaček (independent).
Among other things, this Member took the submission of several catchy or controversial proposals at the negotiations of the city Parliament, for which the interests of the head of the Košice Municipality were acknowledged.
Vasok responded to Corsair to critics that it was not a lucrative job and just wanted to help the city business.
The respected anti -corruption civic association Transparency International Slovakia sees as a problem if a deputy obtains a job without a proper selection procedure, which would also be perceived as a political transition or a reward for loyalty « .
MEPs hid in Košice for a secret vote, higher fees to the city did not pass anyway Read
Proposed secret votes on both fees and taxes
Vasok became a municipal deputy for the first time in municipal elections 2022. He ran for a right -wing coalition that also supported Polaček. He joined the Cooperation for Košice, which also operates both vice -deputy Lucia Gurbáľová (KDH) and Marcel Gibóda (SaS).
When MEP Michal Djordjevič for the next alcohol excess surrendered in March last March, the council elected Vasoka at the same meeting.
This deputy later took on the ungrateful role of the submitter of several proposals that had a controversial touch. At the November council, he pushed a secret vote in several proposals for the city management for changes in urban regulations.
In particular, the astonishment raised why most deputies did not want to vote publicly on changes in paid parking, when they were not about increasing parking fees or any other contradictory adjustments.
The opposition Košice club headed by the largest political rival of the mayor and the mayor of the KVP housing estate Ladislav Lörinc (Košice Party) criticized the secret vote, because according to him the residents have the right to know how their elected representatives voted.
According to the members of this club as an argument to vote secretly, the fear of MPs from a kind of public Lynča, threats and accusations on social networks if they support the increase in payments.
Obviously, because of the concerns of colleagues IV, trying to improve the chances of approval, he proposed Vasok and received the majority support for secret votes on the increase in the local fee for municipal and small construction waste and taxes for accommodation and use of public space.
However, this did not help, because none of the city management proposals to increase fees and taxes received the required three -fifths of Members.
On the second attempt it has already come out
The mayor also included these unapproved points in the program of the December meeting of the Municipal Parliament. And it was again Vasok, which he designed and finally pushed the secret vote. He appealed to the requirements of several deputies.
As Polaček supported it, many deputies also came to him, saying that they have a problem with aggressive criticism, threats and accusations on social networks.
Thanks to the reduction of rates, this time the change of fees and taxes in the secret ballot has already passed.
« I see that you liked the proposal to realize a secret vote on such important topics as taxes and fees in this city that directly affect citizens’ wallets, » Marek Fedoročko (independent) criticized during the discussion on waste.
He added that he could understand this if they were dealing with personnel questions and elected some people to office, but at the point where it is the amount of tax and fees for people, a secret vote is an unacceptable solution and cowardice for him.
« I really think that a Member who is afraid to vote publicly, who is afraid to stand in front of his voters and to argue why he votes as he votes, should not be a deputy, » Fednočko concluded.
They dismissed members of the Košice club from the positions
At that time, he had no idea that this meeting would vote on the appeal of five members of his club from the bodies of municipal enterprises and companies and one of the city councils.
Although Vasok did not come up with these personnel exchanges, he wanted to push the secret vote again, but this time he did not come.
« But finally the denouement came. It has now been shown that these nominations are explicitly for remuneration, for the vote on the waste fee and that is the question, and what for it?
However, the personnel exchanges did not work out. Only three deputies were dismissed.
Vladimír Saxu was replaced by a member of the Supervisory Board of the Transport Company by former mayors long -term critic Jozef Karabin (independent).
Fedoročka replaced the Supervisory Board of the National Tennis Center Djordjevič.
And instead of Martin Seman, Ján Sekáč, a colleague from the Vasokov City Council, became a member of the Vasokov City Council.

What failed in December was done at the February negotiations. This time he has already submitted proposals for exchanges and secret voting Vasok itself.
