The Ministry of Health presented a new network of rescue health services. In the case of Liptov, ie the districts of Liptovský Mikuláš and Ružomberok, except for one change, copies the current state of the network.
So far, three stations have been working in Ružomberok, only two will remain after the new one. The ambulances will continue to go to help from Besenova and Liptovska Osada.
The problem is that the ambulance was canceled in Ružomberok, her crew specializes especially in the transport of more demanding conditions to distant hospitals outside Liptov.
Its tasks will have to substitute the remaining ambulances. This means that at least one of the remaining ambulances will be on a far route to a remote hospital and will not be able to intervene in the region.
It is to use a new type of outpatient clinic for such transport, it is an outpatient outpatient clinic. But they don’t count on Liptov.
The proposal of 2023 criticized
- The new network of ambulances was presented by the Ministry in 2023, but it met with great criticism. In the case of Liptov, the ambulances were to lose the marginal areas, Liptovská Osada and Východná. The station was supposed to be added in Demänovská dolina.
- The then proposal from the workshop of the Ministry, which was then headed by Zuzana Dolinková, was criticized by the Žilina self -governing region and the municipality of Východná. Mayor Pavel Krupa pointed out that the cancellation of the rapid medical assistance at Horní Liptov will significantly reduce health care.
In the case of Liptovský Mikuláš district, two stations remain in Liptovský Mikuláš, one in Liptovský Hrádok and one in the East. In both districts, there will be one crew of quick medical assistance, the remaining emergency medical crews will be.
The cancellation of the ambulance in the Old Hory is also a problem.

He pointed out the vastness of the region and the fact that many people who need help here are increased by tourists. In 2023 it was only visited by two million people.
Liptov will lose a station, which has approximately 1800 to 2000 trips per year, drives a monthly drive 12,000 kilometers.
« And that will be a problem, » he pointed out.
« The new network is outside and as far as the Liptov region is concerned, it’s all wrong. The competent crew in Ružomberok is going to cancel. This crew was designed mainly for secondary transports between hospitals, interfering on the primary trips.

Ambulances often go to less serious conditions
Last month, Parliament approved an amendment to the Act on Emergency Medical Service from the workshop of the Ministry of Health under the leadership Kamila Šaška. The amendment is to bring a series of key changes to stabilization and increasing the efficiency of the whole system.
The health sector admitted in the explanatory memorandum that the rescue service system has been overloaded for a long time. The reason is, in addition to the aging of the population and the increase in chronic diseases, worsening the availability of primary health care.
« Many patients seek help directly through the emergency lines, leading to overloading the operating center and the crews of the ambulances of the ambulance, » the ministry pointed out.
New types of ambulances in Liptov will not be
The amendment also introduces new types of outpatient clinics, including the so -called hybrid form of RLZP, which combines a day trip with a doctor and night service without a doctor, such a crew will not work in Liptov.
Another novelty is the introduction of the type of crew to ensure the transport of the patient between hospitals and interfere with less demanding trips. A specialized transport clinic (AŠP) will be created, but it does not have to replace the current emergency medical crews in the system, it will be added to the extra system.
« There will be people with an 180 -hour course, which cannot be equal to the rescuer or a doctor on the ambulance, » Karel added. Thus, for the transport of patients in serious condition, they will still send classic ambulances.
Ružomberok district lost an ambulance, which was mainly dedicated to the transport of patients between hospitals and logically it should be replaced by a new AŠP. However, this will not happen, they do not count on the published network of settlements for the district of Ružomberok. ASP will be added in Dolny Kubin.
The Act entered into force from 15 April 2025, with the exception of the provisions on the line 116117, which will be valid from 1 January 2026.

« Canceling an ambulance that saves human lives daily is a decision that Liptov may feel only when it is too late. Health care should never be a question of compromise, » Karel pointed out, saying that he was surprised how no one has been behind the Ruzomberok crew and its cancellation was quietly and without any attention.
As he added, the abolition of the crew in Ružomberok, which transported patients to distant hospitals, will soon feel. Its services will have to be replaced by the remaining crews, which would otherwise interfere in urgent situations directly in Liptov.
« In a moment, people will have a problem because ambulances will not be available, » the rescuer concluded.

- One of the main changes to the amendment to the Act is the introduction of a new non -acute help line 116117, which is to lighten the overloaded line of emergency call 155.
