They can imitate the heartbeat with Deepfake Videos
Deepfake videos are becoming more and more scary, or recordings that are digitally created to deceive viewers. They are so similar to real videos that they can deceive even the most advanced detectors used for it. According to a recent study, they are able to imitate heartbeat.

We recently reported that Judit Halász’s face was used during a cheeky fraud. The kid’s favorite performer himself was shocked at how realistic the video they made without the knowledge was. This case was also an example of Deepfake fraud.
According to a new study published in Frontiers in Imaging, it is harder than ever to distinguish fake footage from the originals. It is written that the most advanced Deepfake sensors have so far been reluctant to monitor blood flow on the person’s face, as this has not been imitated by counterfeiters. But this has changed today too – writes Science Focus.
In the study, researchers used a high-tech Deepfake detector based on medical imaging technology. This tool estimates the pulse by sensing the small changes in the skin through the skin. So far, they have been sure that the deep asleeps could not reproduce these fine signs well enough to deceive detectors, but this assumption is no longer in place.
When the team tested the detector with the latest counterfeit videos, it often detected an extremely realistic heartbeat, even if it was not intentionally added.
Professor Peter Eisert, a co -author of the study, told BBC Science Focus: « I think this is the fate of all the deepening detectors: the deep asers are getting better and better, so a well -functioning detector two years ago now goes bankrupt. »

Cruelly punished in South Korea who looks at Deepfake porn
South Korean legislators adopted a bill on Thursday that will make it punishable to own or view sexual Deepfake images and videos. Penalties include prison and fines. For those who are given to them, you can expect a very tough punishment.
Will the forgery be unstoppable?
Fortunately, according to the professor, there is hope. Eisert’s team believes that new perception strategies can help. Instead of simple global heart rate measurement, future sensors could keep track of a detailed flow of blood on the face.
« As your heart beats, blood flows through the blood vessels into your face » – He said Eiser. “It is then distributed throughout the face, and there is a little time delay in this motion that we can add to real shots. ”
However, Eiser explained that sooner or later the detectors would have a chance, so another method would have to be applied …:
« Personally, I think Deepfakes will work so well that it will be difficult to recognize them unless we focus on technology that proves that something has not been changed instead of recognizing it if something is a fake. »
