Thessaloniki: In the statue of El. Venizelos the central gathering for Tempi

The demonstration in Thessaloniki for the two years from the tragic accident in Tempi is expected to be massive.

The central gathering will begin at 11.00 in the morning and will take place at the statue of Venizelos in the city center, while the registration of bodies, associations, associations, municipalities and colleges will begin earlier in the morning in various parts of Thessaloniki.

Specifically, concentrations are planned at the intersection of Tsimiski and Aristotelous Streets, Venizelos and Ermou, Charles Del and Ermou, as well as in Agia Sophia Square.

Students

Today, the Campus of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki took place and included a psychological workshop to support children and families in mourning, speeches of relatives and workers, events and exhibitions.

Similar rallies will take place in other cities, capitals of Central Macedonia.

The OASTH buses will be released with security personnel and normally the KTELs will be carried out with the KTELs in the Thessaloniki Town Planning Complex.

Relatives of the victims and citizens are calling for a memory rally at 10.30pm at the Thessaloniki Railway Station.

Meanwhile, the Thessaloniki Traffic Directorate announced that from 9am gradually and depending on the development of the events, the city center will be excluded and vehicles will not be allowed, and there will be changes on urban bus routes.

The subway

Also closed will remain tomorrow at 9am the Thessaloniki Metro stations « New Railway Station », « Democracy », « Venizelos », « Hagia Sophia », « Sidivani » and « University », following information by police.

In a statement by the company « Thema » on the subway website (Thessmetro.gr) it is noted that the stations will reopen upon more recent information, while the operation of the line at the rest of the stations will normally take place.

Also, from 10pm to midnight, metro workers have announced a work stoppage by participating in the strike and according to the company « there may be delays in routes or restrictions on line operation ».
