These Western European countries believe that World War III is just around the gates
A new Yougov study found that between 41% and 55% of respondents in Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Spain believe that a new world war is likely to break out over the next 5 to 10 years.
The overwhelming majority expects that such a war will include the use of nuclear weapons.
The survey was conducted in the first two weeks of April at 7,095 people in five European countries, According to Euronews.
If another world war breaks out, respondents estimate that their country will be involved, with rates ranging from 66% to Italy to 89% in Great Britain.
However, there is also a clear sense that the European armies are not prepared for a global conflict.
Only France believes that its armed forces could effectively defend the country in the event of a third world war, with 44%.

As Donald Trump continues to make controversial moves in foreign policy, more than half of those in Spain, Germany and France regard tensions between Europe and the US as a significant or moderate threat to peace in Epirus.
Since the beginning of his second term, Trump has threatened Greenland and has confused his unstable stance on the war in Ukraine.
Greenland has about 40 of the 50 critical minerals that the US considers vital for their national security.
These minerals, including uranium and toner, are essential for processing and global supply chains, although Greenland resources remain largely unexplored.
A continent on waiting
As tensions grow and threats grow, Europeans seem to be psychologically prepared for a dark event.
Although most do not believe their countries are ready, they find it almost certain to be involved.
With a look at Russia, but also with increasing concerns about the US, terrorism and critical control, Epirus seems to be in a state of waiting – a fragile balance between peace and insecurity.
