These nutritional supplements may pose a risk to consumers
The Health Inspectorate of the Republic of Slovenia informs consumers of fraudulent practices in the online sale of nutritional supplements of the brands of flower and hemp and is advised not to buy them. These nutritional supplements can thus pose a risk to consumer health, the inspectorate said today.
Nutritional supplements of the branded flower and hemp and nutritional supplements of other brands that are on sale on the website for the Slovenian consumer, as well as individual nutritional supplements of these brands on additional websites, such as floraplus.si or Doberan.si, offer various companies registered in Slovakia.
They do not register with the competent authority
As they explained, these companies do not report their activities to the competent authority because they want to avoid official control. At the request of the competent registration authorities, the company closes and opens a new one, which continues its activity. Since official controls are not carried out in these companies, no traceability, which is one of the key elements of the safety of nutritional supplements, is not verified, they stressed.
When advertising nutritional supplements, businesses also use illicit and misleading health claims and claims that relate to the prevention, treatment and healing of various diseases.
Responsible for online sales are the EMBRO and Lymus Bratislava companies, which, despite the closure, can still be listed on individual websites under the general terms and conditions, warns the inspectorate. The currently active company online is Joml, also from Bratislava.
Risky websites
The Health Inspectorate has already ranked the sale of nutritional supplements through these websites as a risky website. In cases of dietary supplements Doberdan Forte+ and Melatonin Forte+, when they found the risks from the presentation on the website, they published a message for consumers on the website dangerous and inconsistent products.
The Health Inspectorate advises consumers to regularly monitor the posts on their website on the risky websites, as this can avoid or prevent the purchase of nutritional supplements of unknown providers or providers. providers who cannot be verified by fraudulent practices.
