Border crossings with Alfalfa

« Medicago Sativa », « Lucerne » or « Schneckenklee » is also called the Alfalfa crop. But should that really be behind the duo of the same name? In any case, Bert Jung and Charel Geimer have been making music together under the name since 2018. And thanks to the support of many partners such as the artist Ars Nova Lux, Sacem, the Ministry of Culture and the Fondation Indépendance, the two musicians can present their new album in the Espace Découverte.

From 7.30 p.m. on Saturday, June 7th, there will be absolutely fresh material not only for the fans. With the single « Dandy Man » there is already a public sound impression that refers to the sound.

« With their unmistakable sound and its innovative production, Alfalfa will inspire the audience with their unique electronic music, » the organizers rave about in marketing.

And: « This album is proof of the development of Alfalfa as an artist and shows its ability to exceed limits and create music that is both fresh and exciting. » Her stirring electric hythmas and catchy melodies are supposed to enjoy music lovers of very different stripes.

When children’s theater pulls special circles

« Our previous experiences have shown that a visit to the theater is surprisingly unproblematic for the very small and their companions, » writes the Helios Theater, which wants to attract very young audiences from two years with its production « circles ». The performances on Friday, June 6th, in Echternacher Trifolion are already sold out. But for the two appointments on Saturday, June 7th, at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. there are still tickets.

Circles are created Photo: Buelent Kirschbaum, Walter G. Breuer II

The starting point looks so simple: stones and a bucket swing over a blue playing area, and trickles from the sand. Gradually, « circles » are created through the sand, figures are added and this creates meditation on very big questions. What do these circles mean? Do we belong to special circles? And what if we dance together in a circle? In just 30 minutes, a stage world full of magic is created, which opens children playful access to the theater world.

How new stories are created

Betsy Dentzer, Luisa Bevilacqua and Louisa Marxen will show their production « Tell It Again, Sam » on June 7th in Marnacher Cube521. It shows « all facets of narrative art », according to the cultural center in the north in its press release. What it is about? According to the Cube521, the audience can sniff into a special world that « celebrates humanity with all its stories ».

It goes into a café in which very different people collide with their stories. The little stories that every person carries and brings with them are associated. The quote « Play It Again, Sam », incorrectly attributed to the figure Rick from Casablanca, serves as a starting point for this narrative in Luxembourg and French.

Tickets (26 euros, 12 euros reduced, Kulturpass possible) for the evening on June 7th from 8 p.m. in Marnacher Cube 521 can be ordered to [email protected] on Tel. 521 521 or by email.
