These “bad” habits are actually healthy for you

Many Danes try to put a lid on bad habits every day – but some of them may not be fought at all.

Research indicates that a number of behavioral traits we usually associate with poor health or undiscipline can in fact be beneficial.

New studies highlight more examples of everyday habits that deserve a better reputation. Here are four of them you don’t have to have a bad conscience over:

1. You drink (much) coffee
If you start the day with a few cups of black coffee and continue with more during the day, you are far from alone – and it doesn’t have to be rubbish.

On the contrary, research suggests that high coffee consumption may be associated with a lower risk of more cancers. This is partly due to the content of antioxidants in the drink.

However, it is still recommended that the coffee does not replace water in everyday life.

2. You can’t sit still
The residue behind the desk can prove to be a plus.

People who have difficulty keeping the body at ease and constant drums, lashes or get up, burn on average up to 350 calories extra daily, compared to those sitting still.

It happens without conscious training and can have a positive effect on weight and combustion.
