The government has planned to pump $ 100 million into the media check, which is paid to some of the country’s most financially pressured pensioners.

The bill, which has just landed, proposes that more than 400,000 Danes can look forward to a little extra in the account.

The media checker, which today gives DKK 1,085 a year before tax, stands to get a boost – first with 200 kroner already this year and then with a permanent increase of 400 kroner.

The TV views are secured despite price increases

The reason for the planned increase is that a change in the VAT Act is expected to make it more expensive to buy TV packages. Therefore, the government will compensate the pensioners so that they can continue to get entertainment, news and sports into the living rooms without having to turn every coin.
