Košice. « You are pioneers, » said screenwriter and director Daniel Dangl, head of the Košice Film Regional Film Office Ján Melikant and Košice robe Rastislav Trnka (independent).

Only recently has the county increased support for filmmakers who are shooting in the Košice region. The council has approved an increase in return subsidies for film staffs from the previous 2 and 7 percent to the current 5 to 10 percent of the costs that producers invests here.

The county focused on the film industry three years ago when she founded a film office that still has one employee.

Six euros from one

The region is based on the claim that each euro will return to the region six times to the support of the film industry. A similar subsidy scheme does not work in any other region in Slovakia.

Film crews are to start shooting two new feature films soon.

« In just two to three weeks, we will focus on the east, where we employ six hundred people, in about three hundred, including film professionals, » says Dangl, who is behind both films.

Kava 2 is the sequel to the successful cinema that scored in traffic numbers. « Sin would not be done, the response from the audience is incredible. The film has one wonderful thing, it has the power to connect in this period when we are all in trenches. »

Czech actors and European star

« It is very important for us filmmakers because moving people from one city to another. If professionals are here, we will use them even more, now we are about thirty percent of the home, but I can imagine it will grow. »

Would Dangl come to the east and without refunds from the region? « It’s a huge benefit, » he admits.

Several Czech actors are also supposed to perform in the film Rotka. « We are pulling them here from Prague and those percentages that the region are returning to sleep will pay the cost of travel and accommodation. That’s why we are shooting here. So we can only put other funds in the film. »
