Awaiting a long time
The current situation in Košice shows that the increase in interest in new travel documents is beginning to multiply, but the metropolis of the East is still better than the capital.
« I was surprised, I came with my daughter to arrange a passport to avoid a huge onslaught just before the holidays. But we had to wait a long time, about an hour, and a month will be done.
A similar situation is on both client centers in the city, ie on Komenského and Hroncova Street.
“The waiting time to submit an application are the longest in Bratislava In Košice, nowadays, it is about 90 minutes, in other cities of the Košice region a little less, ”said the Ministry of the Interior.
This advises people to recall documents in time and avoid long waiting. It points out that it is better to travel to smaller cities, and online booking can also help.
They advise smaller cities
« In connection with the increased interest of clients in handling personal documents, we recommend avoiding large client centers, as new documents can be applied for at any department of documents, or use the services of a universal reservation system, » the Ministry of the Interior responds.
According to the ministry, it is therefore advisable to consider visiting workplaces outside regional cities. The law does not impose an obligation to handle documents only at the place of permanent residence.
The resort claims that not everyone has to wait long hours. Parents are given priority to children under 3 years of age, as well as everyone who has booked a date in advance through the online system.
As it is assumed that the highest increase in travel documents will occur from the end of May, the ministry calls on people not to keep passports for the last minute.
Due to the high demand, client centers can face overwhelming, which can lead to the extension of waiting periods even in express services, ie when handling a passport within two or ten working days.
