There are no more patients in the UKCS in Belgrade in Kocani’s diced, all are healed
At the University Clinical Center in Belgrade there are no longer patients treated by the fire at the Kocani discotheque on March 16 this year. The two last patients treated in Belgrade on March 17 – Andrei Georgiev, 23, and Angela Boskovska, 24, left the UKCS Clinic this afternoon.
A fire at the Pulse disco in Kocani on March 16 killed 62 young people and about 200 were injured, hundreds of which were treated abroad. Another 12 were injured in treatment, seven of whom abroad.
Angela and Andrew expressed endless gratitude to the UKCs doctors for their care and sacrifice in their treatment. Angela Boskovska is from Skopje, Andrei Georgiev is from Kocani. Angela is a fifth year student at the Faculty of Medicine, while Andrew studies at the Academy of IT and works.
« We are endlessly grateful to doctors and all the medical staff at the Clinical Center for everything they did for us, for the treatment of care, » Andrew said.
The human gesture by the state of Serbia will not be forgotten by doctors in that country, emphasize the Macedonian Embassy in Belgrade who were in contact with patients and medical teams who cared about the condition of the injured daily.
On behalf of officially Skopje, Macedonian Ambassador Nikola Tupanchevski expressed his gratitude to the medical staff in the state.
Milan Stojicic, director of the UKCS plastic and reconstructive surgery, expressed gratitude to the Serbian authorities and Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar as well as the Macedonian authorities.
– I also express my gratitude to the Macedonian authorities who were in contact with us daily, as well as the Macedonian Ambassador Nikola Tupanchevski who was constantly asking about the condition of the patients. Here we are firing the last two patients we were treating at the Emergency Center today. Seventeen patients were admitted on March 16 and 17 with injuries sustained in the fire at the Kocani disco. Everyone was taken care of and treated at the Emergency Center-said Dr. Stojicic.
He added that all patients who were admitted to the Emergency Center of the Clinical Center of Serbia survived and were treated successfully.
– A total of 17 patients were treated at UKCS in Belgrade. Five of them were intubated – the mechanical ventilation. Most importantly, all patients survived. Everyone was brought in serious condition with inhalation injuries and thanks to our teams we have good news. I can say that this is another act of good neighborly relations between Northern Macedonia and Serbia. All the time we had great support from our superiors not only from the Clinical Center but also by the Minister of Health of Serbia, Zlatibor Loncar as well as with the Macedonian Ambassador to Belgrade, Nikola Tupanchevski and with the secretary of the embassy, Emre Mustafi-said Dr. Stojicic.
The UKCS said they had excellent collaboration with all Emergency Center doctors – anesthesiologists, physical medicine specialists, pulmonologists, bronchologists. Joint teams that managed to rescue the injured from the fire brought to Belgrade.
– Treating these patients was not easy. Andrew and Angela had very serious injuries. However, they were in another country but we tried to feel like they were in their own state for treatment-said Dr. Stojicic.
He wished them a quick return to everyday life.
