There are nearly 7 million pieces at treasure hunters trader
Viktor Molnár For over two decades, it has collected the Hungarian memorial material of the 60s and 70s, attributing special attention to objects beyond traditional tablet image, including kinetic objects, space plastics, light-space modulators and spatial installations. THE TV2 treasure hunters The face of his show has been running the Budapest when Gallery since 2015, where five artists from April 25 (György Z. Gács, János Percz, László Balogh, György Hegyi, Szász Károly István) The works of 1965 and 1980 can be viewed at the exhibition called space reservation. On Wednesday evening, the antique dealer presented his restored compositions in a closed circle, as an analogy, Gyula Hincz and Nicolas Schöffer also displayed a work.
« Normally, a gallerist will work with a contemporary artist that will work together. It works differently for me, I exhibit and put back the objects I buy and put back to art history with the help of professionals » Viktor Molnár began to question Blikk. « I originally not a galleist, but simply an antique dealer, and I think of myself – the pieces exhibited here are part of my own collection. Over the past decades, many artists’ oeuvre has come to me, I rescued these works quasi because they were stored in a place that would probably be the » He explained. For example, the glasses of György Z. Gács were found from the last house of a small village in Nógrád County, which was restored by the antique dealer together with the rest. By the way, dr. It was compiled by art historian Anna Váraljai, drawing a parallel and placing the artists displayed at the exhibition in context.
« We had our first joint exhibition in March last year, but preparation of such an exhibition also covers a year. There are now 31 items that have to be restored » – told Blikk by the art historian, who opened Wednesday’s event with Zoltán Zoboki, Managing Director of CEWE Magyarország Kft. « The sorting aspect was actually entrusted to me. The artists presented are all those whose legacy was in many cases very bad circumstances – there was a work that Viktor bought from the caretaker of a house on the morning of the last day. The collection is still being processed. »
The image reflects the owner’s taste
Viktor Molnár usually bought all his life hoping for what he liked, for others. He thinks that an antique trader or antique dealer will be self -identified and authentic if the artists he represents are. According to him, it gives each store its unique tone and style that the image reflects the owner’s taste somewhere. Based on these, Viktor Molnár also has to tell the personality of the exhibited pieces of space, which of course can be purchased.
« I am trying to position these artists now. They really represent a narrow band that is less popular, even though their works are practically perfectly at home furnishings, so they are obviously perfect as an investment » Explained Viktor Molnár, and he also told us that he The most expensive piece of the exhibition is one of László Balogh, which costs about 6 million 800 thousand HUF.
Of course, you also wonder if the owner of the collection has a favorite piece of exhibited works. Viktor Molnár answered a little harder for this, which is not surprising, as every piece he had acquired and restored certainly grew somewhere deep into his heart.
« It is a very difficult question to highlight which of the items. If I had to choose at all costs, maybe that round Z. Gács glass » He pointed to the distance. « In the 1970s, these were made by the artist for the puppet theater-they were placed in the corridors, as a lighting body on the wall. It is very exciting that the wall-mounted kinetic bottles not only performed their original function, but also a very high level of art.
Because they could not show in their own age
The exhibited creations could indeed be decorative elements of any home, not just because of space experimentation, which is otherwise as common to five artists as their commitment to abstraction, their interest in kinetics and their connection with modern architecture. If one is attracted to individual objects, it would certainly be tossed by a work that has a modern appearance when carried on the past. The name of space is, in addition to referring to the important role of spatial plastics and to raise the creators who have fallen out of art history canon into discourse, it also employs their intention to « put » the space with their works.
« This exhibition is essentially a hallway to several future exhibitions, where we will present these works one by one and how the kinetic approach appeared in the Hungarian art of the ’60s » – said dr. Anna Váraljai, adding that there are no moving sculptures or kinetic objects at this exhibition, the collection has such pieces, but this time they just wanted to show how to think in the artists’ approach and to start operating lights.
The expert also emphasized how diverse the exhibited works are in the use of materials, and there is no traditional or oil canvas painting between them. Despite the exciting solutions, however, the creators of the exhibition did not have the opportunity to introduce themselves to art scenes in their own age – often only in industrial environments, industrial halls, factories, and planetarium. « We want these creators to shape space in contemporary art – we see potential to be placed on them » – said dr. Anna Váraljai, who is very curious about the impact of the occupation exhibition on the audience.
