– Nothing will restore the life of Dr. Tomasz Solecki. Nothing will fix this dramatic harm that has become the participation of his family and the whole medical community. And nothing will fill the void that arose. A void that still doesn’t make sense. Everything we do now is just an attempt to respond to the most decent reaction to the act of unjustified, cruel and extremely unnecessary violence. That is why I applied to Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Minister Jan Grabc about the funeral of the late The doctor was of a state character, and the ceremony took place with the participation of military honorary assistant – says Małopolska voivode Krzysztof Jan Klęczar.

The doctor murdered in Krakow will be awarded
The voivodship authorities explain that Dr. Solecki was a recognized specialist, known for empathy, dedication to patients and high professional qualifications. He performed his duties, guided by professional ethics, medical oath and a deep sense of responsibility for other people. His activity had a significant impact on the lives of many people, and his attitude is a model for current and future representatives of medical professions – it was written in the justification of the application for posthumous award.

Officials inform that the award was granted under the decision of President Andrzej Duda. During the funeral ceremony, he will be handed over to the family by the deputy head of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland Piotr Ćwik. This is one of the highest state decorations was awarded for outstanding merits in health care activities.
It was also stated that Tomasz Solecki would also be honored posthumously by the Minister of Health Izabela Leszczyn with the Honorary Badge « For Merit to Health Protection ». In turn, the Mayor of the City of Krakow Aleksander Miszalski, for special services to the city of Krakow, gave him the Honoris Gratia badge.
The funeral of Dr. Tomasz Solecki will take place on Wednesday, May 7, at 13.40 at the Batowicki cemetery in Krakow.
Tomasz Solecki died on Tuesday, April 29, when the cutter attacked him in the doctor’s office. He asked him a dozen or so knife blows. The wounded hit the operating theater, but the injuries were too serious.
