Sigríður Andersen MP for the Central Party and Inga Zealand, Minister of Social Affairs and Housing and Chairman of the Central Party, had a few exchanges at a parliamentary meeting yesterday, where the appointment of the boards of the Housing and Civil Engineering Agency and the State Social Security Institute were the topic.

The MP requested the Minister’s explanation not to comply with the provisions of the Equality Act in the appointment of the HMS Board and had the Equal Rights Office requested explanation for it, but the Icelandic Engineers’ Association, however, had fatued fingers in the lack of professional skills of the members of the committee appointed.

As far as TR’s Board of Directors wanted to know the MP, what it was that the Minister had not yet resigned from appointing the Agency a new Board after the appointment of the previous Board of Directors ended in November. Sigríður said he was aware of the minister’s intention of closing the TR board.

Inga Zealand thanked Sigríður the inquiry in her reply and subsequently pointed out that under the Equality Act, it was permissible to deviate from the principle of appointment of the board of appointing a man and a woman, justifying the objective reasons for deviations and cited the minister as an example of such reasons.

Politically appointed as the works are political

« In the case of the recent appointment of the HMS Board of Directors, I appointed the parties I considered the most capable of following the government’s policy, » Inga said next, adding that the board was politically appointed, as its task was of a political nature.

Sigríður then resumed the issue and said she understood Inga so that she felt that HMS’s board was politically appointed and expected Sigríður thereby that the appointment had taken place in light of the fact that appointed committee members were appropriate, that the clear provisions of the Equality Act had to be deviated from.

« It is also interesting to hear that the Association of Local Authorities has considered it allowed to nominate just one person in the same light, » Sigríður also said before noting Inga that nothing had been made by the Minister’s reply to the appointment of a new TR Board and the question was therefore repeated.

Appointment not timely

Inga took the case again and said it was right that she intended to shut down the board and was a bill to do so for the handling of the parliament at this time. In doing so, the democratic will of Parliament decided whether the appointment of a new government would be in due course.

« As a result, it is not timely to appoint a new board. tips that may be lost.
