Then a call turned up and down on everything

Kasper Spliid and his family live in the house, which is expected as part of Energinet’s large expansion plans.

But the project is paused and Energinet refuses to buy the house now that there is no « need » yet.

Nevertheless, the company requires the property to be expropriated – ie to Energinet – at an unknown time in the future.

This is how it writes TV 2 East Jutland.

« Our real estate agent has spoken to ten people, all of whom withdrew when they were told that Energinet will expropriate it at some point, » says Kasper Spliid.

Understand the frustration

At Energinet you acknowledge that the situation is difficult for the family.

« I can fully understand the family’s situation. It is a very regrettable situation that one has to wait for an unknown time horizon, but as soon as the offshore wind turbine supply is underway again, we can resume a good dialogue with the family » says Christina Plum Simonsen, department head and senior manager in the company.

However, she emphasizes that the grounds continue to be exposed to electrrastructure and that an expropriation will be necessary.

Energinet maintains that the family is not really tied up because they can « technically » sell their property. But buyers need to be informed about the plans, and it makes it practically impossible to find someone who will invest in a house that is set for demolition.

The family in Trige can neither or dare invest in the home, but also have no opportunity to move on. As long as Energinet is waiting for political decisions about the Kattegat project, the family must wait.
