The young actor Matthew Burnev will be a guest at the next Cinematographer event
The films will rotate around the pool to immerse viewers among a variety of water stories. Although at first glance the pool may seem a boring place, because it is a controlled environment with strict rules, there is an abundance of sports malice, emotions, traumas, obvious and implicit glances, implications, intrigues and more.
The connection of a person with water pools is as old as humanity itself and is deeply woven into his psyche and imagination. Some people are afraid of jumping from above, others diving into the deep, and others not to be loser, but whatever the attitude towards water is, it is not indifference. The cinematographer’s editorial team guarantees that the audience will be convinced on its own.
A special guest for a discussion during the event at Cine Grand, Sofia, will be Matthew Burnev, who is the lead role of the premiere Bulgarian title for the evening – the film « The Pool » by director Pavlina Bozhkova. The plot introduces viewers to teenager Alex, who does not like water, but his father insists that he train swimming.
At the same time, the boy takes care of the old, sick dog with which he grew up. Alex’s daily life is accompanied by constant attempts to rebel against his parents, and in particular against his father, obsessed with his dream of being a swimming competitor. However, life has its interesting ways to lead a person to the most unexpected awareness and situations.
The program also includes titles from Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Ukraine and the Netherlands. Movies that saddened, laugh, think and provoke the imagination.
