The world is changing rapidly, we as Albanians not not! Kristopher Hill messages
By Afrim Krasniqi
Kristopher Hill (Christopher Hill) is one of the most famous and experienced American diplomats especially in SEE countries. Hill was the first US official reopening the US embassy in Tirana, and was ambassador to V. and then to Serbia, Ambassador to South Korea, Iraq and Poland, and during 1998-1999 US special sent to Kosovo. He has also had advisory positions with the US President and the National Security Council, and has received two high prizes from DASH, one regarding his role in the Kosovo crisis. For additional info: Hill has had several visits to Tirana, in 2016 from Albania received the highest state reverence, the decoration « Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg ».
With his interviews and evaluations you can sometimes have different opinions (even personally there were such cases), but his latest interview, already in a new geopolitical position and situation, has some messages that have value and importance to be understood and even understood in our Nahijah.
Here are some of the latest HILL messages that apply to political elites/crowds in Pristina and Tirana:
1. We no longer live in the 1990s. We are in a very different era.
2. In the current circumstances I would expect the US to have a more limited commitment compared to the past
3. The Balkans is, of course, an unfinished job in Europe, but people in the Balkans need to understand that in other parts of the world, other things are happening
4. The time when countries came to us or to any European Western state to complain about their neighbors is over and people are tired of this.
5. Kosovo, like all Balkan countries, must really take responsibility and solve its own problems.
6. EUs are appreciating how to determine new members. Do they accept them one by one or at the same time? There are many challenges and, of course, are also considering approximation issues.
7. The fact that we are trying to manage some of our interests with Serbia does not mean we are against Kosovo. We have many interests in Kosovo as well. Therefore, I would be careful with the idea that the Great Powers are choosing between countries.
The world is changing. We no and no. We neither read, none understand, nor reflect, nor change, simply recycle the failures, crises, responsibilities, and continue to survive by nourishing our minds, propaganda and show.
